September 10, 2010 Inmate Death Notification
Buckeye, Ariz. - Inmate Shannon Palmer, 40, ADC #73621, was found unresponsive in his cell at ASPC-Lewis’ Buckley Unit. Palmer was pronounced dead by the emergency medical responders just before 2 p.m. Friday from an apparent homicide.
Palmer came to ADC for the fourth time on Sept. 15, 2009, after a conviction for criminal damage from Maricopa County. He was sentenced to prison for three years.
Palmer was housed in a two-man cell with another inmate. The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the department's Criminal Investigations Unit.
