Rachel Maddow: Brewer, SB 1070, and AZ Prison Privatization.

Here's the link to the Rachel Maddow Show episode that covers the Kingman escape, private prisons in Arizona, and the sleazy politics around it all. She missed our own ADC's Charles Ryan's stint with the Iraqi prisons, but otherwise did an excellent job of pointing out the connections between private prisons in AZ, Governor Brewer, and SB 1070. Frankly, it's criminal. There's a good bit with Phoenix's Channel 5's Morgan Loew, too. Good job, Morgan, busting this open in the first place.

So, take 15 minutes to absorb this piece before you write or call the governor's office Friday about prison privatization (see post below). It really ties it all together. If you don't understand why some people are so outraged about SB 1070, you will after you watch this show.
